It seems that South Carolina Representative who call the President a Liar, has a history of intolerance for anything should we say, of a mixed race. Pam's House Blend has a great article in which the representative have shown a history for his lack of tolerance. I will like to say his racism, but you should be the judge on that.
" he was offended that there were stories that racist bigot Sen. Strom Thurmond (R-SC) had an illegitimate daughter, Essie Mae Washington-Williams, with a black woman (a Thurmond family maid). After all, stories that Strom's white rod got anywhere near the nasty woo-woo of a negress would sully the steriling reputation of that upstanding white man, right? (TPM): Rep. Wilson, a former page of Thurmond's, immediately told The State newspaper that he didn't believe Williams. He deemed the revelation "unseemly." And he added that even if she was telling the truth, she should have kept the inconvenient facts to herself:"

I wonder if he would have shouted out that way if it were a white President? I'm just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteI thought that, too, Beth, but then I realized that the first time I'd ever heard an elected official being so openly disprectful of the president happened when the president was a black man.
ReplyDeleteTwo hundred years of old white men and it's all Chip'n'Dale, but put a black man in office and that is too much for asshats like wilson to bear.
Those who believe the Old South will rise again are having a hard time dealing right now and its going to get worse before it gets better. Wilson and his cronies are holdovers from the 20th century and will fade into history soon enough... whether they like it or not.
ReplyDeleteHe's more of a flashback to the 50's and a disgrace to the country. I, too, thought about the disrespect he showed and how too many of those bigots treat him as "less than." Being the first is always hard, but this is so sad.
